Let’s do a quick review: (This post has several YouTube links to other sites. I am not here to reinvent the wheel; in other words, make new videos that say the same thing as others have already said or promote other sites by you visiting them. I am a watchman on the wall and I am trying to show you in the quickest way possible what is coming and how to prepare for it.)
A House Keeper is someone who looks after the home. They don’t just clean the home, they are a moral compass for the family, holding their values up, and teaching them to their children. They are equal to all the members in the household, but each member has a certain role to fulfill.
A woman who works outside the home, is still a housewife and housekeeper. She will probably be more reliant on the family for help, which means her husband, will have to ‘help’ out more in the home with cooking, cleaning, and yard care.
A stay-at-home mom, whether she homeschools or not, probably does the majority of the housework, but teaches her children how to cook, clean and do yard work. Her house is probably cleaner, and more organized than a working mother; however, she too might have a side hustle, or spends part of her time volunteering.
The traditional view of marriage is between a man and woman. The husband is not superior to his wife, they are equals. Abuse between them should not be tolerated. A healthy relationship is built on communication, trust, loyalty, and submission. A woman has wisdom and insight that a man should honour. A woman should respect her husband, not speak ill of him. A marriage is a partnership, and intimate things should never be spoken about outside of the marriage.
Children, whether stepchildren, adopted or biological, are yours for life. You are the watchman over their lives, which includes, spiritual, practical, and logical teachings. Children should never be yelled at, exasperated, or abused in any way. Your job is to protect them from all harm in the home, school, and outside activities, even to the point it costs you your life.
A husband and wife are a team, even if you are separated or divorced. Don’t carry your trash and deposit it into your children. Don’t gossip, slander, and devalue your spouse or ex-spouse in front of your children. NEVER ever do that. Children are not garbage cans, and you are not their friend. Children shouldn’t have to carry their parents; parents are to carry their children.
Spend less than you make. Save money. Pay your credit card off before the end of the month. Give. What you sow you reap.
Volunteer your time. Show up for work 10 or 15 minutes before your shift and be ready to work. If you are going to be late, tell your boss. Work better than your hourly wage. Don’t just work at a minimum pay level, because than you will never advance to a higher level of pay. Don’t gossip at work.
If you need to use the food bank, use it, but remember to give back when things are better. If you need a clothing voucher, get one, but when things are better, give back, more than you took.
In case of a power outage, what do you do?
In this lesson, we are going to talk about ‘being prepared’ in case of emergencies.
In the summer of 2023, towns and cities were evacuated because of forest fires. In December, Alaska, they were at a stand still due to snow. In 2024, in Iceland evacuations due to lava flowing into a city. Ice storms, and snow fall has caused chaos with power outages, inability to leave your home, and high volumes of accidents. Were you prepared?
Last year, our theme was, “Be in Season, out of SEASON,” and we talked about being prepared all year. This year we are talking about, “Remove the Fear, and be Prepared.”
IT TAKES TIME TO BUILD UP A PREPARED HOME, AND COSTS MONEY BUT CAN BE DONE CHEAPER THAN YOU MAY THINK. OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF LESSONS, YOU WILL LEARN HOW AND WHAT TO PREPARE.
You should have, at least, bare minimum, three days of water and three days of food at all times in your home. Where do you start? Water. You cannot live without water. You need to store at least 2 litres (8 cups) of water per person, per day, plus water for your pets. Most governments ask you to have seven days minimum.
For drinking water, I suggest buying bottles of water that you can lift. If you cannot move one of those large bottles, (18 litre size) buy the smaller ones. If you have canning jars, you can water bath or pressure can water. If you have a water filter system, pour them through that to refreshen.
For storing water for washing and cleaning, you can buy the cheaper, demineralized water, or simply fill pop bottles and leave them in the back of your closet and drain and refill every six months. Use that water to feed pets or water plants.
How to flush toilets. If you have a hot water tank, you can use this water to drink or when absolutely necessary, flush the toilet with it. Remember, this is fresh water, that is drinkable, but if left in the tank during a prolonged power outage in winter, could freeze.
For food, purchase a few items that are simple to heat up or can be eaten cold. Again, buy for your family, for a least 3 days, 7 is better. There are a few ways to cheaply heat your food if you are prepared.

There are other ways to heat your home during a winter power outage, but the list above will give you a start.
For light: candles, oil lamps (paraffin oil is best for indoors and lasts forever), battery operated lights such as flashlights and lanterns, and battery-operated motion lights, which will help not only in a power outage, but in case of a fire or other emergency.
Have extra blankets on hand, ones large enough to drape over a table to create a small microenvironment or tent you can set up in your living room. Extra mittens, warm jackets, and boots for helping you to keep warm.
There are many battery-operated devices that you should consider buying, to keep your cell phone charged, or creates enough power to operate an electric blanket. There are devices that attach to your power tools battery you can use to plug your coffee maker or other piece of equipment into.
If you have someone who is dependant on a medical device, it is wise to find a power source to keep that device working. Remember, to stock up on batteries if that is what it uses for power, and although solar power recharges some of these devices, you need sunlight to charge them, and they can take an extremely long time to charge.
AT LEAST twice a year, change the batteries in your alarm systems, whether fire or carbon monoxide or other.
If you have a baby or small child in the home, made sure you always keep enough formula and diapers in the home. If there is a power outage, that means stores will be closed, and if by some miracle they are open, you need to have cash. It is best in an emergency, not to go out as panicked people will be in a fight or flight mentality, and you could be in danger by going out shopping with cash and assaulted as you leave the store with emergency items. Don’t jeopardize yourself and children.
Most power outages only last a few hours, but it can easily last up to three weeks. I heard a news report recently, that New York only has three days of food stored within the city. If the city came to a stand still, and millions of people ran to the stores in a panic, do you want to be among them?
Things to keep in stock: foods that do not need heating, unless you have a heat source, in which case soups, stews, and other prepared canned meals. Things like pasta burn more fuel to cook as you have to heat the water and then cook the pasta.
With the open borders in both Canada and the United States, there is a serious threat of terrorist attacks. Power stations have been attacked and many more have been averted. Mass bombings, shootings and terror attacks are highly likely due to the known terrorist aloud into our countries. In these cases, people will be in a flight or flight mentality, areas will be closed, possible power outages and emergency personnel will be stretched as far as they can be. Have a plan in case this happens in your neighbourhood.
If your children are in school, and perhaps in different schools, who and how will you get them? If you are separated from your spouse, and communication between you is cut off, who will get the children? Where will you meet up? If an explosion causes gases to be released into the atmosphere, and you need to evacuate immediately, where do you go? Do you have bags packed with all the necessary documents you need, a change of clothing, and crates for all your animals. Do you have enough gas in your car to get to a safe place? Enough cash to use for gas and food? Do you know how to get out of your city?
At least have a go bag packed, or bare minimum, all your documents and cash in a place you can easily grab them. If you have 10 minutes to be on the road, can you get all your children buckled in, your animals crated, grab your purse or wallet, your documents, clothes, personal care items, and pet food, and be on the road. Probably not.
What if you don’t have a car and need to meet at the local school to catch a bus. Can you get there? Children, animals, and yourself.
If you have someone with special needs, what is your plan? If you live in an apartment, can everyone get down the stairs. Do you have devices that can operate that equipment on a bus or in a car? Don’t say it will never happen, it has been happening all over the world. In Canada, during the forest fires, many cities had to evacuate all its residents. Iceland just recently had to evacuate a whole city.
THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS ALIENS, however, governments have created ways to affect the weather, and man has created ways to create an EMP attack. I am not trying to scare you or overwhelm you, just be prepared to keep your family safe and fed.
