Holy Spirit’s Conviction and Satan’s Condemnation

March 23, 2024

Holy Spirit is our teacher, our friend, and our power source.   There is no evil in Him, He never has bad thoughts about us, and He is always prepared to help anyone who comes to Him.  He is light and dispels the darkness.  He is pure energy, pure love, and pure God.

Satan is a liar, a thief and trader.  He only has bad and evil thoughts towards us.  He will kill us, maim us, blind us, torment us, and divide us.  God says he has come to steal, kill, and destroy us.

Then we have what I call fence sitters, which is where the majority of Christians live.  One foot in Heaven and the other in Hell.  They are afraid of Holy Spirit’s conviction and receive it as condemnation, or they relish in the condemnation of Satan, thinking it is Holy Spirit’s conviction.

GOD DOESN’T HAVE A BAD THOUGHT ABOUT YOU.  HE DOES NOT MAKE BAD THINGS HAPPEN TO YOU, IF HE DID, HE WOULD BE A LIAR.

Holy Spirit brings correction, direction, and motivation to move towards God.  He doesn’t make you depressed, anxious, weary, beat you, torment you, or lie to you.

Holy Spirit will come live inside of you if you invite Him in.  Just as Jesus lives inside of your spirit when you invite Him in, Holy Spirit will do the same.   The evidence of speaking in tongues proves that He is inside of you.  His language is pure and holy, and it terrifies the enemy.  He is the power source needed to live a holy life.

Holy Spirit is the one who brings conviction.  Dictionary.com writes, “

noun. a fixed or firm belief: No clever argument, no persuasive fact or theory could make a dent in his conviction in the rightness of his position. the act of convicting someone, as in a court of law; a declaration that a person is guilty of an offense.”  Cambridge Dictionary says, “the fact of officially being found to be guilty of a particular crime, or the act of officially finding someone guilty.”

Holy Spirit will warn you before you commit a crime, before you step into offense, before you act wickedly.   He is your guard on your mouth.  He is the warning bells that go off inside you before you act or speak.  He is that inner knowing something just isn’t right.  He is also the One who is there prompting you to seek forgiveness and repent after you have sinned.  Above it talks about court, and a declaration of guilt over an offense.  Heaven has a courtroom, and Satan is constantly up there accusing you before the LORD.

Before I even stepped into my alcoholic marriage, Holy Spirit warned me not to have anything to do with this man.  Over and over, He warned me.  My heart started to withdraw from Him and started to harden to His voice.  I married this man, coming into covenant with him.  My husband and I were supposed to start to grow together and become one.  However, my husband belonged to Satan, and Satan was the one I started to become one with.  Holy Spirit continued to talk to me, convicting me, telling me what the Court of Heaven ruled, that I was found guilty of treason.  Treason is “the offense of attempting to overthrow the government of one’s country or of assisting its enemies in war.”  (Merriam-Webster dictionary)

Adam committed treason in the Garden of Eden and was removed from the garden.   I committed treason and became a goat.  Even so, Holy Spirit still came after me, as I was the sheep that was missing, I went AWOL, absent without leave.   “…being AWOL for less than three days can result in a maximum penalty of confinement for one month and forfeiture of two-thirds pay for one month. After 30 days or more, service members face dishonorable discharge, forfeiture of all pay and allowances, and a one-year confinement.”  (Findlaw) Understand different countries have different laws in place, however, a soldier is disciplined.  Earth reflects Heaven.  What is bound on Earth, is bound in Heaven, and what is released in Heaven is released on the Earth.   Do you notice, the penalty for only three days is much less than being gone longer.

As time marched on in my marriage, it became harder and harder to cope, not because God had left me, He was still seeking me, but my heart was growing colder towards Him, and I was walking further away from Him.  “Instead, they entertained corrupt and foolish thoughts about what God was like.  This left them with nothing but misguided hearts, steeped in moral darkness.  Although claiming to be wise, they were in fact shallow fools.” (Romans 1:21b, 22; TPT)

Have you heard the term, “God turned them over to a reprobate mind?”   I was disgusted with some of the definitions given by some Christian leaders as I looked for a definition to share with you.  Some people had the nerve to accuse God of rejection.  The King James Version uses the word reprobate, and the Passion Translation uses the word worthless.  The Message says, “Since they didn’t bother to acknowledge God, God quit bothering them and let them run loose….They made life hell on earth.”  God gave us a free will to embrace Him or reject Him.  God never stops loving us, never stops yearning for us.  NEVER, EVER.  We, meaning you and me, allow ourselves to stop hearing the Word, receiving the Word, embracing the Word.  We let go of God, God doesn’t let go of us.

Jesus asked the Father to send Holy Spirit, and Holy Spirit came.  He seeks and searches for us.  He goes throughout the world listening to people, waiting for them to call out to God.  He hears you; He sees you, and He wants to have fellowship with you.  The Word says, seek and you will find.   Knock and He will open the door.

When you open the door, Holy Spirit is going to tell you that He loves you, but you need to right the wrongs through repentance.  Repentance means God forgets all your wrongs, but you need to step away from your sin.  You must not seek it, think about it, or touch it ever again.   Holy Spirit will work with you to help you get away from it, but you must hear his voice and be willing to hear His correction, direction and pick up your bible to study the Word and He will help you understand it.

Satan will immediately dispatch a team of demons to manipulate you into not listening to Holy Spirit.  They will do everything possible to mask you, tempt you, feel guilty for leaving Satan, by using every weapon at their disposal to keep you shut down.  “You can’t leave because of the children.”  “You can’t survive alone.”  “You will be lonely.”  “No one else will love you.”  “If you leave, run into the arms of another.”  “The abuse is not bad.”  “Even Jesus hung around sinners.”  “You are supposed to love the unlovable.”   Lies laced with truth, are still lies.  Fear is the hallmark of Satan.   His words are death, hell, and the grave.

Holy Spirit will ask you to repent and will be a witness in Court to testify that you indeed repented and He has the power to get you on your feet and do what God is asking you to do.  God is holy; therefore, you be holy.  “God is kind, but he’s not soft.  In kindness he takes us firmly by the hand and leads us into a radical life-change.” (Romans 2:4; MSG)

Today, I cannot imagine my life without Him. He tells me, He cannot exist without me either.  I tell Him, “You are in me forever and ever,” and He is good with that.  Do I always hear correctly?  No.  I still have past experiences that hamper the wisdom of Holy Spirit.  I sometimes hear a voice and without question, run after it, only to find myself in another pickle jar.  God is not a God of unforgiveness, mercy and grace.  He loves me and wants what is best for me.  He is never against me, but always for me.

When you consider why we are here on Earth, it all makes perfect sense.  We are here to learn to hear and obey Holy Spirit and have fellowship with Him, because Earth is a training grounds for eternity.  We are being molded for greatness.  If you do nothing or very little in this life, you will have little rewards in the next life.  Remember, we are eternal beings.   We will never taste death, at least those in Christ Jesus.

If you want to live in sin, God will let you.  If you want to be poor, He will let you.  If you want to live a righteous life, He will help you, but you need to listen and fellowship with the Father, Jesus, and Holy Spirit.  They are a package deal.

If you are enjoying the pickle jar, you will eventually preserve yourself to the point of having a reprobate mind.    If you live on the fence long enough and become comfortable there, you will remain a goat, and Jesus said, goats don’t enter into Heaven.  Those who seek God, will be found.  “The person in right standing before God by trusting him really lives.”  (Romans 1:17; TPT)

We are eternal beings.  The Word will never pass away.  There is a life to come, and that life to come will determine our rewards on the other side of this.  Psalm 84 says, “I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, then dwell in the tents of the wicked.”  God is creating a universe for us to play in, work in, rule and reign.  I want to be more than a doorkeeper.

I know these are hard things to take in, but bite by bite, step by step, you can move into your rewards, a righteous life, and a fellowship with Holy Spirit.
