Yesterday, I was watching a YouTube video, and part way through, this lady says, “toss out, burn all those Christian Prosperity Preachers Books and stop listening to them.” She then showed the people’s books. I cannot comment on them, as the one’s she showed, some very popular and well known, I do not listen too; not to say I never heard them over the years or read one of their books. I have shared with you many of the prophet’s, pastors, and teachers I follow, and they too have been advertised by some as evil, false prophets, and ‘those prosperity preachers,’ as well.
This morning, I felt directed to read from Matthew 5, and as I read, verse 22c popped off the page, “And whoever calls down curses upon a fellow believer is in danger of being sent to a fiery hell.” (TPT) Jesus says, a fellow believer, which is one of our brothers or sisters in Christ. Recently, we talked about sheep and goats in the Daily Walk in Tomorrow devotional, both are our brothers and sisters; however, the goats are not going to Heaven. I heard some prophets say, during the tribulation, some of those pastors and teachers will still be here, and their congregations will be angry at them for not teaching the truth to them. (Prophet Amanda Grace – I watched from her YouTube channel, on April 22nd, 2024, she exposes this in a church.)
I am not going to mention names, as I don’t know their hearts, their intentions, but I will say, if you attend a church that receives homosexuals as pastors, or they have a dominant role in the church, leave. If you attend a church that marries homosexuals or doesn’t speak against sex outside of marriage, or that abortion is wrong, leave that church. If an idol sits inside your church, leave. If your church acts like a Pharisee, leave. If your church doesn’t allow Holy Spirit to flow through the service, leave. And if your church speaks against apostles, prophets, and evangelists, leave.
I have done this, and its hard, but I would rather be a door keeper in the house of my God, then to dwell in the tents of the wicked. (Psalm 84) If you leave, tell them why, and do not gossip about the pastors or the church when you do. If the church wants to gossip about you or becomes argumentative to prove their point, do not engage.
I understand that everyone has slightly different beliefs, some people are deceived, some people just don’t know, and some people are acting as if the anointing of pastoring is on them, when it is not. A pastor is supposed to lead their flock, watch over the flock, and speak truth. The congregation’s job is to pick the Word up for themselves, study the Word, and if they find something contrary to the Word being taught, speak kindly to their pastor, and if the pastor still continues to follow a false teaching or sin, leave.
Sever ties with anyone who dishonours God. Make God first in your life. The evidence is found in many places of the bible, such as Matthew 10:37- 40. Do not even honour yourself above God. We are created to be like God and do what God does. When someone sins and refuses to repent, God will separate Himself from that person.
Do you recall Jesus saying, “I only do what the Father says, and do only what the Father does”? You are created in the image of God, and you have Jesus and if invited, Holy Spirit as well, living inside of you. You have the mind of Christ because He lives inside of you. God told us to speak as He speaks, and He speaks the end from the beginning, He calls those things that are not as though they were. When I put pressure on, when I speak those things that are righteous and noble, when I pray, I receive the consequences of those words. This is called sowing and reaping. “As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease.” (Genesis 8:22; NIV)
These ‘prosperity teachers’ talk a lot about sowing and reaping. I don’t know how all of these preachers teach it, these, “name it, grab it, preachers”, but I do know that God is the same today, as He was yesterday and He promises to never change, so tomorrow I know He will be the same as today. He said, seedtime and harvest will never cease. “Indeed, I assure you, as long as heaven and earth endure, not even the smallest detail of the Law will be done away with until its purpose is complete.” (Matthew 5:18; TPT) In verse 17 from the Message, Jesus says, “Don’t suppose for a minute that I have come to demolish the Scriptures, either God’s Law or the Prophets.”
If the Law still stands as Jesus says, that means Malachi 3:10 still stands that says, “bring the whole tithe into the storehouse.” God promises to open the floodgates and pour out blessings. Sounds like a harvest to me. Jesus said, “give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, and shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” (Luke 6:38; NIV) He not only is going to fill your cup with blessings that overflow, but He is first going to fill your cup, shake it so it settles and fill it some more. But notice you choose the blessing amount by your measurement.
“The good man brings good thing out of the good stored up in his heart, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For out of the overflow of his heart his mouth speaks.” (Luke 6:45; NIV) What your measurement will be is what is your heart speaking. Jesus tells a parable of the Sower, whose seeds land on hard soil and good soil. The birds, or demons, pick up that seed on hard ground and no good harvest comes. The seed landing on good soil, produces 30, 60 a 100-fold or times. Seed produces after its kind. An apple seed will only produce apples and a cucumber seed will only produce cucumbers.
Going back to Matthew 10:37-40, Jesus tells us to put God first, above family. If we honour God, God will honour us. If we speak like God, God hears us. When we speak the Word of God in Jesus’ name, we attach authority to His Word. Anything we sow, God will give life too; however, we must first ask, we must believe, and we must have faith for it. Mark 11:22 to 25, “Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. “I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea, and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.” (NIV)
So, you made God first, above your spouse, your children, your job, your debt, your clothes, your car. You asked In Jesus’ name for something or for something to happen. You believe in your heart that you received that request, without doubt. What does Jesus say will happen? “…and it will be yours.” Jesus said, “the measure you use, will be measured back to you.” You ask for something, but stand believing to only get by, so Jesus will grant your request and you will only get by. Then you ask again, but your faith and belief has risen, and you believe for ten percent increase. Jesus says, you receive what you asked for and believed for. What would happen if you believed for more than enough? You believe beyound the one hundred times. At this you might hear someone say, “Well, those prosperity teachers, only want your money. They just preach, say it, grab it. It doesn’t work that way.” What is this person going to get? The measurement he put out there, “it doesn’t work.”
Jesus also said, He will reward, even if you just give a glass of water to a child. You probably know someone who says they are standing in faith for a healing, but they die, or get poorer, or something is stolen from them. We live in a fallen world, and Satan will steal anything from us, if we are not standing in faith, without doubt and putting him under our feet. Jesus told us not to become weary in doing good, and I have fallen in this pool more than once. I let my guard down, and Satan stole what I asked for. I have also run out ahead of God and tried to make it happen in my own strength. “Behold, I am coming quickly! I bring my reward with me to repay everyone according to their works. I am the Aleph and the Tav, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the Completion.” (Revelation 22:12, 13; TPT)
What reward are you seeking? Who are you seeking? “The Lord replied, “A master will delegate authority in his house to a trustworthy and thoughtful manager who understands his master’s desires. And the household manager will serve others what they need at exactly the right time.” (Luke 12: 42; TPT) I struggle with this one, the wait for it, God will provide at exactly the right time. Have you ever prayed for something, and something ‘like’ it comes along, that you believe it is the ‘it’ because ‘it’ is close enough and well…you take ‘it,’ only to find out it wasn’t the ‘it’ and the ‘it’ comes and you see it go by, because you took to early?
Have you ever read where I have written, “Prepare not in fear, but faith?” I told you about possible meat and cheese shortages, and the reasons why, and I started to focus on that. I began to fill my freezer with meat and grated cheese, and I even canned some of that meat, to make room for more. Fear and faith cannot work together, as they are so far apart from each other. Fear and faith work the same way; however, both will call to you at the same time. Fear is calling me to put meat on my credit card, rush to the butchers and buy more meat. Faith is calling me into reason and wisdom. The Word says, prepare and God will provide.
I am no different than you. I have bills to pay, food to buy, and I make what I make and sometimes, my bills seem to overtake my paycheque (paycheck). I am a tither and a Sower, and even when I get myself into a pickle jar, God always seems, somehow, to get me out. It always comes with repentance, discipline, and correction. God loves me enough to tell me where I went wrong, switch directions on me, and get me out of the ditch, but I have to do my part. Even God cannot change someone who doesn’t want to change.
“Every servant who knows what pleases his master yet does not make himself ready and refuses to put his master’s will to action will receive many punishing blows. Every servant who does not know his master’s will and unwittingly does what is wrong will receive a less severe punishment. For those who have received a greater revelation from their master are required a greater obedience. And those who have been entrusted with great responsibility will be held more responsible to their master.” (Luke 12: 47, 48; TPT)
God doesn’t require you to go from baby to mature adult in a flash, but He does require you to move forward, repent when you receive a revelation of sin in your life, and to do it no more. I am still working on the do it no more in some areas of my life more than others. My walk in every area of my life is at different stages, and sometimes my get up and do and know, wavers and I need to repent. It is kind of like, Jesus asks you to give a cup of water and you do. Jesus then asks you to give a meal and you do. Then He asks you to give all the money you have for groceries to the single mom in your building. Jesus is taking you from glory to glory or bringing you up to a higher level.
Do you get all the rewards in this lifetime? I don’t believe so. We are to build up our treasures in Heaven. Do we get 100 percent of the blessings all the time. No, I don’t believe so. Jesus said, 30, 60, one hundred-fold or times. We have to have faith and believe. We have to ask in Jesus’ name. We have to stand firm and not run out and do it ourselves. We have to be patient and do it in God’s timing, and this takes practice. Failure happens when we stay in place, stop repenting, and stop growing.
Now back to the person who was putting down ‘prosperity teachers.’ When you judge someone’s heart, that’s sin. Revelation knowledge is to be practiced. God will bring you up to higher levels, but you must be willing to go and to do. You get what you ask for, Jesus says, with faith and belief. Faith needs corresponding action. You want your rent paid, put corresponding action behind your faith, believe when you ask for rent money or your rent paid.
You only need to ask once. After that each time you ask, it shows you doubt. You call for those things that are not as though they were. “I have my rent paid,” you say after asking, but remember, faith has corresponding action. God might tell your landlord to give you a free month, or you are asked to work overtime, or maybe a bonus cheque arrives, or maybe God tells you to allow someone to move in with you, and you work it out that every second month, you pay the rent.
I don’t know how all these prosperity teachers are teaching sowing and reaping. I don’t know where the teachers heart is or where the listeners heart is. It’s the same way with, the bible which says, homosexuals are going to hell, so why are you marrying them and not telling them the truth. You need to do what the bible says to do, and you need to find these things out for yourself in the bible. Why do I quote the bible so much? Because it is not my opinion that counts, its God’s truth that matters.
